LONG COVID-19

Although, unfortunately, most of us will have by now contracted COVID; having a strong immune system will have a positive action and will help the body to fight and protect us in recovering after COVID as well as if one is unfortunate enough to have long COVID as well.

You are considered to have long COVID if your symptoms have been lengthier than 12 weeks after your initial infection.

The symptoms may include some of the following;

  • Rash

  • Low-grade fever

  • Reduced appetite and weight loss

  • Difficulties going about everyday activities, such as work or chores

  • Extreme fatigue

  • Persistent cough

  • Hoarse voice

  • Shortness of breath

  • Heart palpitations

  • Chest pain or tightness

  • Insomnia

  • Memory and or concentration problems

  • Taste and or smell changes

  • Pins and needles or numbness

  • Changes in your mental health

  • Racing heart

  • Low-grade fever

  • Reduction in appetite

  • Weight loss

By utilising natural medicine, we will be able to support you through this. As always, treating the whole person, assessing the causation of disease and then individualising a protocol that is unique to you and your body's requirements.

Some of the modalities we may prescribe for you;

  • Nutritional intervention ~ with an abundance of fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs, non-processed or packaged foods, and plenty of filtered water.

  • Assessing replenishing damage to your gut.

  • Lifestyle factors; stress reduction, exercise ~ beginning gently at a level that is right for you and where you are at.

  • Meditation for your mind, body and soul.

  • Get 15 minutes of safe sun on your body; this feels good and is needed for Vitamin D.

  • Ensuring that you are getting sufficient sleep.

  • We may use herbal adaptogens to improve your immune status.

  • Nutraceuticals and/or herbals to address mental health and generally assist in building your body back up again.

When we get sick from a virus, our body goes into fighting action with certain cells to do their job and help protect us. After a while, they get fatigued and overworked, therefore not doing it to the best of their ability.

There are specific Nutritional Kinesiology ‘balances’ to help restore the body’s cells, together with supplements that can help clean up the nasties that are sometimes stuck in our mitochondria (powerhouses that run your beautiful cells) and produce more energy).

Our Nutritional Kinesiolist Sara Arbon can assist you.
